The town is located in the Chocho department of Columbia, just 84 KM from the country’s capital Popayan. The climate is very humid as it falls in the category of tropical rainforest (Af). Lloro, Columbia (Estimated)

With a total of 12717 mm of rain annually, Lloro in Columbia, South America, is one of the wettest places on earth. The town is located in the Chocho department on the western side of Columbia. Lloro’s climate is tropical rainforest (Af). Rains have unending love with this town as heavy rainfall is recorded almost every day here. It rains 250 days every year on average.

Mawsanram, India (Official)

It is located in the East Kashi Hill district of the Indian state of Meghalaya. The name Meghalaya means the “abode of clouds”. As the name depicts, the town of Mawsanram is officially the wettest place on the earth as listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. The town receives 11,872 mm of rain annually. The rain is unusually heavy during the monsoon months from June to September when up to 1000 mm per day of rain has been recorded in the past. The town’s climate falls in the Subtropical highland climate (Cwb).

Cherrapunji, India (Official)

Cherrapunji is also located in the East Kashi Hill district of the Indian state of Meghalaya. The town is located just 15 KM from the official wettest place on earth the Mawsanram. With an average annual rainfall of 11, 175 mm, Cherrapunji was the previous official wettest place on earth, however, its nearby town Mawsanram dethroned it from its title. The rain is unusually heavy during the monsoon months from June to September when up to 1000 mm per day of rain has been recorded in the past. The town’s climate falls in the Subtropical highland climate (Cwb).

Tutunendo, Columbia (Estimated)

Tutunendo is also located in Columbia, a country in South America. The town is located in the same region where arguably the top two wettest places on earth i.e. the Lopez De Micay and Lloro are located. Tutunendo receives a whopping 11760 mm mm of rain annually placing it in the top five wettest places on Earth. The climate is very humid as it falls in the category of tropical rainforest (Af). It rains frequently here as it has two peak rainy seasons in a single year.

New Zealand is located on most Southern Eastern parts of the planet Earth. It is surrounded by sea from each side from where abundant moisture is available for the passing westerlies to produce heavy rains. Cropp River is located on the bank of the Tasmanian Sea where the effect of western disturbances is very high.
